What is Expo City Dubai?

It is an ideal smart and futuristic destination, UAE’s first fully pedestrianized neighbourhood with a focus on the following aspects:
  • Sustainability
  • Innovation
  • Education
  • Entertainment
As of now, only a few things are open to the public, but they will be more available to you after it officially opens.

Location & how to get there?

Expo City Dubai is exactly where Expo 2020 was and will feature 80 percent of the EXPO-built infrastructure. You can easily take the metro to the Expo 2020 station. There will be no cars allowed inside the city instead buggies, scooters and bicycles will be used as the mode of transport inside the site.

This innovative city is still worth a two- to three-hour visit, and is ideal for families and groups of friends looking for weekend activities on a budget.

What can you expect?

Explore the Alif pavilion:

Located in the Mobility District, this pavilion will offer the same experience as it did during Expo 2020. You can get an opportunity for a private tour of the popular pavilion and explore it thoroughly. The exhibition highlights amazing inventions and innovations from the Arab region from the ninth century to the modern era.

Enjoy viewing the Terra Pavilion:

Located in the Sustainability District, this pavilion also offers the same experiences as it did before and features a 130-meter-wide oval building at its center. It also features an incredible 4,912 circular sprout-like solar panels and 18 Energy Trees huddled around it, generating 4GWh of electricity per year.

Select from many trucks:

There are a few food trucks open around the site, offering scrumptious water, fresh juices, and other snacks. There will be several dining options and attractions opening soon too.

Exercise around the site:

Expo City Dubai will have health and fitness as one of the core competencies of the city’s development, with 45,000 square meters of parks and gardens, a 5km running track, and 10 kilometres of cycling paths.

Having a picnic at the site:

The site is also another great way to spend the weekend. You can enjoy the fresh air and children will have plenty of space to play.

What to look forward to?

From October onwards things will be a number of features such as the Women’s Pavilion, UAE Pavilion, Saudi Arabia Pavilion, the surreal water feature, Vision Pavilion, Al Wasl Plaza, children’s playgrounds, and the carousel opening. Other pavilions that will still be able to be visited will be reworked versions of India, Morocco, Australia, Egypt, Pakistan, and Luxembourg.
