UAE CELEBRATED 45TH NATIONAL DAY
On 2nd of December UAE celebrated its 45th National day. The National Day festivities included a host of activities such as flag raising ceremonies and parades, but main show-stealer was the magnificent fireworks in various places in UAE.
Rulers across the UAE wished the nation on the glorious day celebrating the 45th year of the union.
National Day fervour has gripped the UAE as people – expats and Emiratis alike – began their celebrations in earnest throughout the emirates. All over the country, buildings were lit up in the red, white, black and green colours of the UAE’s flag.

Fifty Years of Bond Style exhibition has opened at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The opening was attended by Bond girls Irka Bockenko (MOONRAKER, 1979), Tonia Sotiropoulou (SKYFALL, 2012) and Caterina Murino (CASINO ROYALE, 2006). On display is Scaramanga’s Golden Gun from THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, Daniel Craig’s sky-blue trunks from CASINO ROYALE, the SPECTRE Aston Martin DB10 and much more.

DUBAI SHOPPING FESTIVAL 2017 IS HERE
Celebrating its 22nd anniversary in 2017, the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) is the largest shopping and entertainment extravaganza in the Middle East starting from December 26, 2016 to January 28, 2017. Along with unbeatable deals, DSF is home to Guinness World Records, celebrity performances, fashion flash mobs to live raffle drawings, and plenty of amazing events to celebrate the emirate’s favorite pastime and don’t forget one of the hallmarks of DSF the fireworks. This year includes shows across two locations in Dubai.
DUBAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2016
Back for its 13th year, the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) will take place at Madinat Jumeirah, the home of DIFF from 7th December to 14th, 2016. The festival will see thousands of cinema-goers, actors, directors, producers, writers and industry experts descend on Dubai to enjoy the world’s best films in one of the world’s premiere locations. The 13th edition will showcase 156 feature films, shorts and documentaries from 55 countries, including 57 world and international premieres, 73 MENA premieres, 12 Middle East premieres and 9 GCC premieres.
OMEGA DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC 2016
The Omega Dubai Desert Classic (02nd February to 5th February 2017) is a PGA European Tour sanctioned event featuring a $2.5 million prize pool. It is held early every year at the Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis Course. The Omega Dubai Desert Classic attracts some of the biggest names in golf. Tiger Woods has featured at the event six times since 2001 and has won it twice. However, the most successful golfer at this event has been Ernie Els who has played in 12 different years and has won the competition three times. The youngest player to walk away with the trophy was Northern Ireland golfer Rory McIlroy who was just 19 years old when he won in 2009.

Attention to all foodies, the Dubai Food Festival will start from 23rd February to 11th March 2017. The Dubai Food Festival is the only truly citywide food festival in the Middle East. Held every year it celebrates Dubai’s emergence as a gastronomic destination. Offering a calendar of exciting food-related events and promotions, highlighting Dubai’s unique food scene, its personalities and it’s world-class dining experiences.
DUBAI TRAVELERS’ FESTIVAL 2016
Dubai Travelers Festival (14th December- 17th December, 2016) is a stage where seasoned adventurers can share their experiences with visitors and among one another through workshops, lectures, interviews and documentary screenings.
Dubai Travelers Festival will be held at the Mushrif Park this December expecting to see a large number of international travelers, many of who have made significant achievements and broken world records during their travels. These adventurers have traversed the globe by various means including cars, boats and motorcycles and even on camels or on horseback. Included in this festival are workshops and contests as well as seminars and photography exhibitions.
