UAE’S HIGHEST PEAK TO GET OBSERVATION DECK
Ras Al Khaimah tourism body builds viewing deck at summit of Jebel Jais
An observation deck is being built close to the summit of the highest mountain in the UAE, as part of plans to boost adventure tourism in the emirate.
The viewing deck will be constructed close to the summit of Jebel Jais, which rises 1,934 metres above sea level in the northern UAE emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), which oversees the emirate’s tourism industry, is building a series of viewing platforms to experience the Al Hajar Mountain range, which borders Oman.
In addition to viewing platforms, the Jebel Jais Observation Deck will serve as a base camp for hikers and bikers looking to test themselves on the rugged mountain range, RAKTDA said in a statement.
The facility will also house a multi-purpose events arena, picnic areas, access to numerous walking paths and a dedicated food truck zone.
Designed by agencies Naga and Botanical, the platform is to be lit with solar energy and is due to open to the public in October.

LA PERLE SET TO OPEN BY AUGUST 31st 2017
The Las Vegas-style theatre, which is themed around water, has been brought to Dubai by the Al Habtoor Group, and it will be in Al Habtoor City.
The auditorium is set to host 1,300 theatregoers, and shows will use 2.5million litres of water, hydraulic lifts, fountains and high-powered winches to wow the crowds. The concept comes from creative director Franco Dragone, one of the main brains behind Cirque Du Soleil, and whose most famous shows include Quidam and Saltimbanco. He’s more recently been responsible for spectacular stage productions including
Celine Dion – A New Day; Le Rêve in Las Vegas, Aida in Naples and The House of Dancing Water in Macau.
During the shows at La Perle actors and acrobats will impress audiences with amazing stunts and aqua and aerial feats, including diving from 25 metres in the air and flying across the stage at speeds of 15km/h. State-of-the-art lighting and sounds systems all add to the wow-factor.
With just 14 rows of seats wrapping 270 degrees around the stage, all visitors will get a memorable, immersive experience (and if you’re in the front rows, maybe a slightly splashed one)
