Palm Jumeirah
An artificial cluster of islands in the Arabian Gulf, Palm Jumeirah is yet another architectural phenomenon put together by advanced and intense land reclamation methods. Though the smallest among the three planned islands called the Palm Islands, it is the only one accomplished now and is visible from outer space. Bearing facilities of leisure like 28 hotels on the Crescent including Atlantis the Palm, and residential spaces among many others, this is worth a glance from the close for its marvellous intercourse of man’s creative calibre with nature’s forces.
Dubai’s soaring skyline is famous all over the globe, although it is not the only architectural feat to capture the world’s attention. The bird’s eye view of Palm Jumeirah reveals it’s shaped like a stylized palm tree within a circle and it consists of reclaimed land in a series of artificial archipelagos.
The network of roads, tunnels and public transport options like the 5.4 km long Palm Monorail mean that access is so easy. A free car park at the base of The Palm comes with the rail service which offers stops at the Palm, Atlantis and Nakheel Mall.
